A landslide struck the Murree Expressway after continuous rainfall, damaging a section of the road, officials confirmed. Large rocks tumbled down from the mountains, forcing partial closure.
Authorities immediately shut down one side of the expressway for all vehicles to ensure passenger safety. The other side remains open, and traffic is currently moving without major disruption.

Repair and clearance work began soon after the incident. Heavy machinery has been deployed to remove debris and stabilize the damaged portion.Officials stated that the road will be fully reopened once restoration is complete and the area is declared safe for travel.
Authorities also warned that the risk of further landslides remains high as continuous rainfall weakens mountain slopes.Travelers have been advised to avoid unnecessary journeys, particularly to hilly areas during the ongoing spell of heavy rain.
Safety teams are closely monitoring the situation and will take additional steps if weather conditions worsen.
