Chinese garment manufacturer Challenge Fashion Pvt. Ltd. has announced plans to establish a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Pakistan, with a projected investment of $100 million over the next five years, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The initiative is expected to generate $400 million in exports, officials briefed. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated the SEZ after meeting with a company delegation led by Chairman Huang Weiguo.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said:
“We appreciate Challenge Fashion Group’s confidence in the Pakistani market. We welcome the establishment of a Special Economic Zone in Pakistan.”
He directed authorities to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided to the company, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to boosting the industrial dimension of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Shehbaz Sharif further highlighted that Pakistan is eager to benefit from China’s expertise in the textile sector, describing the investment as a step forward in strengthening bilateral industrial cooperation.
